On Sunday 6th September, nine Alan de Maid employees took part in The Nuts Challenge in Surrey, with the goal being to raise funds for St. Christopher’s Hospice. The Nuts Challenge, one of the most challenging, military-style obstacle courses in the UK, pushed participants to their limits; through its unforgiving obstacles and never-ending mud slides. With exception of bruises and a sprained thumb, the Alan de Maid team came out surprisingly unscathed from the course, with a few employees even beating personal targets and coming 7th out of 700+ participants and 1st in age-group categories!
In total, Alan de Maid received 25 donations totalling £572.50 for St. Christopher’s Hospice. The Hospice now recognises Alan de Maid as a Silver Business Partner, having raised more than £500 for the charity this year. St. Christopher’s even sent through a lovely certificate to state as such.
All at Alan de Maid are really proud of the team’s achievement and are thrilled to support such a worthy cause. Alan de Maid can’t wait to support the Hospice again in future and would like to thank all who donated, cheered on the team and provided food afterwards.
A few employees are taking part in The Midnight Walk, a five mile walk through Sydenham at night, 10th October, for St. Christopher’s Hospice - please wish the team luck.
